Itinerary
Day 1 – Monday – Arrive Canton, Ohio – American Grass Roots Dinner Show
This Special Event Tour begins with a three-night stay in Canton, OH. This evening features the American Grass Roots Dinner Show by the renowned Dominic Greco Band. It’s a Patriotic Event with a delicious dinner at the Kent State Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center in New Philadelphia, Ohio. (D)
Day 2 – Tuesday – Garfield Historic Home – Many Faces of Old Glory Show
Today starts with a tour of Lawnfield, the home James A. Garfield, America’s 20th President. One of Ohio’s 7 Presidents his term was cut short by assassination. As you tour this beautiful home, you will learn about his unusual front porch campaign in 1880. Your morning also includes a visit to the Garfield Memorial in Cleveland with it’s statue of the President under an extraordinary domed ceiling with stained glass windows representing the first 13 states of our country.
You will also tour the impressive Wade Chapel designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany, it’s considered one his finest interior creations! Then you have lunch on own in the Little Italy neighborhood featuring fabulous Italian cuisine and bakeries!
This evening’s event at the Amish Door Milana Ballroom is a delicious plated dinner followed by the Many Faces of Old Glory Show a one-man show by Vane Scott. It brings to life the history of our US Flag. A fun and dynamic presentation set to music! Your evening ends with Birthday Cake for America and party favors. (B,D)
Day 3 – Wednesday – McKinley Presidential Library – First Ladies Museum – Eisenhower Living History Portrayal – MAPS Museum – USO Show
Today begins at the William McKinley Presidential Library and Museum. Learn more about the life of our 25th President whose term was cut short by another assassin. This is an amazing museum dedicated to his life and career along with a great historical display of early Canton life and industry! You will also visit the impressive Monument and Tomb as we pay our respects to the President and his family.
You then visit the First Ladies Library and Museum in downtown Canton, the only museum of its kind in the US dedicated to Presidential Wives. Here you will actually visit two buildings the Education Center and the Ida Saxton McKinley Home.
Lunch is at the MAPS (Military Aviation Preservation Society) Museum. This museum showcases restored miliary aircraft, the Gallery of Heroes, a piece of the USS Arizona, a replica MASH Unit, and more!
Your meal here includes a living history portrayal of General Eisenhower! You will feel like you are in the room with Ike as he gives an emotional reprisal of his famous first press conference following the D-Day Invasion in Normandy!
This evening’s dinner is at the Der Dutchman Banquet Hall at the Carlisle Inn of Walnut Creek. It’s a delicious buffet with fried chicken, roast beef, real mashed potatoes, noodles, green beans, salad, rolls, and mouth-watering pies for dessert!
Then at the Amish Country Theater for the incredible Dave Banks Big Band USO Show, America Remembers! The rousing and energetic show features a 17-piece live orchestra showcasing music from 6 decades, singers, and a special tribute to our Veterans! (B,L,D)
