Itinerary
Day 1 – Boston, MA
Arrive today in Boston, MA where you enjoy a three-night stay at a local hotel. Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant. (D)
Day 2 – Boston’s Stocking Stuffer Tour with Gifts – Trinity Church Boston – Gingerbread Lunch at Cheers – Christmas at a Castle Dinner
After breakfast, meet your local guide for a Boston Stocking Stuffer Tour. Your day will be filled with gifts and Christmas spirit as you celebrate the festivities of the holiday season! Everyone receives a Holiday Stocking a receive 2 gifts throughout the day. Hear narration about Boston’s historic sites and holiday traditions on this fun and spirited tour of the city.
Included in your tour day will be a visit to Trinity Church Boston, designated as “one of the ten most important buildings in America” by the American Institute of Architects. More than 70,000 visitors tour this National Historic Landmark building each year.
Next, enjoy a Gingerbread House Making Lunch at Cheers. Enjoy a delicious meal then celebrate the holidays by designing and decorating your own Gingerbread House with candy and frosting. Return to your hotel (with your gingerbread house) to freshen up and relax for dinner.
Late this afternoon, depart for Gloucester, MA for a Christmas at Castle Dinner at Hammond Castle.
The Hammond Castle Museum was constructed in 1926 by inventor John Hays Hammond, Jr. as his residence. In the style of a medieval castle, it was built to house his private collection of artifacts from ancient Rome through the Renaissance. The Hammond Castle Museum will be dressed for the holidays inside and out. (note: Hammond Castle is not handicap accessible) (B,L,D)
Day 3 – Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum – Free Time Quincy Market – Boston Pops Christmas Concert
Start the day with breakfast then a tour of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Modeled after a 15th-century Venetian palazzo surrounding an indoor courtyard garden, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum houses one of the world’s most remarkable art collections, featuring works by Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Raphael, Degas, and Sargent. The museum was also the site of an infamous case of art theft in 1990 when 13 pieces of art were stolen and have never been recovered.
Next, enjoy free time for lunch on own and shopping at Quincy Market. There are over 40 local vendors selling a variety of apparel, gifts, accessories and more in one of the most historic retail locations in the world.
Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant. This evening will be the highlight of your trip – The Boston Pops Christmas Concert at Symphony Hall. Enjoy festive favorites from cultural traditions around the world, that will get you in the holiday spirit quicker than you can sing “Fa la la la la.” Tonight, it’s back to your hotel to nestle in bed with visions of sugar plums (and the Boston Pops) dancing in your head!
