There are nearly 50,000 objects representing more than 3,500 years of history displayed in the galleries; items range from the portrait of an ancient Egyptian pharaoh to contemporary sculpture. The Museum’s highly regarded curators and librarians actively acquire materials for the museum. Enjoy lunch on your own today in the Museum’s café.

Day 2 – Rose Hill Mansion – Canandaigua, NY – Lunch at New York Kitchen – Casa Large Vineyards Tasting – Skaneateles, NY
This morning tour the Rose Hill Mansion and experience a taste of 19th-century life. Built in 1839, the Greek Revival house was the center of a busy and productive farm. The tour focuses on the Swan family, who lived in the house from 1850-1890. Through letters, photographs, and diaries, explore the family’s joys and sorrows and their interactions with neighbors and the many workers required to keep the large house and farm in working order. Enjoy the magnificent view of Seneca Lake from the front porch and the vista of nearby farmlands.
Next, travel to Canandaigua, NY for lunch at the New York Kitchen. Lunch is served in the Demonstration Theater, a comfortable amphitheater setting, enhanced by state-of-the-art audio and visual technology. Watch as your guest chef demonstrates how to make delectable fare using superb New York State products.
Stop this afternoon in Fairport, NY at Casa Large Vineyards. Here you enjoy a wine flight sampler with cheese and crackers. Your sample is served in sample cups in a portable tasting paddle. It also comes with a sheet of information on each of the wines. Tasting ambassadors will check-in to see if you have any questions during your tasting.
Return to your Auburn hotel to freshen up and relax before heading to Skaneateles, NY for dinner on your own. Enjoy the vibrant downtown filled with unique shops and restaurants. (B,L)
