Itinerary
Day 1 – Waco, TX
Your group arrives today in Waco, TX for a two night stay. Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant. (B,D)
Day 2 – Waco – Guided Fixer Upper Tour – Magnolia Market & the Silos – Paint & Wine Party
Start the day with a guided Fixer Upper Tour where you will see many of the homes, shops and historical landmarks featured on the show. Stops are made for photo opportunities as well. Sometimes you even get to go inside one of the homes.
Enjoy free time this afternoon at Magnolia Market and the Silos owned by Chip & Joanna Gaines, hosts of HGTV’s “Fixer Upper”. You will have time for shopping in the Market, games on the lawn, and touring the garden. And have lunch on your own at the ‘Siloteria’ – a collection of food trucks located here.
This evening following dinner at a local restaurant, enjoy a Paint & Wine Party. What’s better than toasting to a good time with friends? A Paint & Wine Party is a fun way to create memories and masterpieces and enjoy a glass of wine. Glasses, canvases, and paintbrushes are provided and a local artist guides you through the party, stroke-by-stroke. All you need to bring is the wine. (B,D)
Day 3 – Jackson/Ridgeland, MS – Duck Commander the Tour
Travel today is eastward across Northern Louisiana, with an afternoon stop will be at he Duck Commanders Warehouse in West Monroe where most of the action and antics on A & E’s Duck Dynasty took place. A new must-see exhibit is Duck Commander the Tour which will walk you through 15 galleries featuring family artifacts and pictures, set recreations and costumes from the hit television show Duck Dynasty, and will take you on a sensorial experience on a duck hunt with the Duckmen of Louisiana.
At the end of the day you will be in Ridgeland, MS for an overnight stay at the Drury Inn. Dinner is on your own this evening, but you may wish to take advantage of the hotel’s 5:30 Kickback featuring a rotating menu of free hot food and cold beverages. (B)
Day 4 – Laurel, MS – Laurel Mercantile Co. – Scotsman General Store & Workshop – Wetumpka, AL – Wind Creek Casino
Today, you visit Laurel, MS made famous on the HGTV show “Home Town.” Laurel is a small town in the heart of Mississippi with a rich history and lively spirit. From our oak lined streets and friendly neighbors, you’ll feel right at home. Here you visit the Laurel Mercantile Co. where you step back in time and discover a retail store full of heirloom quality, American Made goods. There’s a little something for everyone – original apparel, candles, homewares and original artwork and woodworking from LMCo. Co-owners and HGTV’s “Home Town” hosts, Erin and Ben Napier. You’ll leave with your bags and hearts full, inspired and proud for all of our hometowns across the USA.
You will also have time to visit the Scotsman Co. General Store. Inspired by general stores of yesteryear, The Scotsman General Store is sure to remind you of a place from your own hometown. Take a peek inside Ben Napier’s woodshop where he creates the custom woodwork you see on HGTV’s “Home Town” (shhhh…..if you’re lucky you may catch a glimpse of filming)! The Store offers Scotsman brand apparel and handmade wood products, original and delicious pantry items, nostalgic candies…but your favorite may be the world’s largest display of vintage sodas in the walk-in cooler!
Travel late this afternoon to Wetumpka, AL and check into the Wind Creek Casino & Hotel Wetumpka for the night. Check out the gaming floor and get in on the action with over 2,500 of today’s most popular games. The Entertainment Center also features major events year-round and you don’t miss the Casino’s shark-tank centerpiece. Dinner is included this evening at the Casino. Take your tastes to the next level with everything from the upscale fare at the gourmet steakhouse to the great flavors of the grab-and-go deli. (B,D)
Day 5 – Narrated Wetumpka City Tour – Depart for Home
This morning visit Wetumpka, AL recently featured on the HGTV series “Home Town Takeover.” Wetumpka beat out 2,600 other U.S. small towns to be chosen for the starring role in the show. Ben and Erin Napier stars of Home Town help put the city back on the map, taking on 12 renovation projects in the town including restaurants, shops, houses, public spaces, a farmers market and a downtown street. Your local guide will narrate as you tour the city. Be sure to stop by the new Wetumpka Wall Mural for a selfie. Several feature films have also been filmed in Downtown Wetumpka including The Grass Harp, The Rosa Parks Story, and Big Fish. (Narrated Tour as available)
You will have free time to explore all the updates that have been done to Company Street while visiting the local shops including Tapp18 which was featured on the show. Enjoy lunch on own today in Wetumpka before departing for home. (B)
