Itinerary
Day 1 – Washington DC – Afternoon at Smithsonian Museums – Dinner at Tony & Joe’s – Shear Madness Performance
Board your deluxe Starr Tours Motorcoach this morning and travel to Washington, DC. On arrival, enjoy lunch on own and an afternoon for the Smithsonian Museums of your choice. You can decide which interests you the most and can visit Air & Space, the American Indian, Natural History, American History and more.
Then check into your Washington DC area hotel for an overnight stay. Dinner is included this evening at Tony & Joe’s in Georgetown. If you’re in the mood for fresh delicacies from the sea, dive into Tony and Joe’s Seafood Place at the Georgetown Waterfront. While enjoying tempting dishes, you have spectacular views of the Potomac River, Kennedy Center, Washington Monument, Roosevelt Island, and the Key Bridge.
After dinner, enjoy a performance of Shear Madness at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Shear Madness is the interactive comedy whodunit that lets the audience solve the crime! Set in present-day Georgetown, Shear Madness engages locals and visitors alike as armchair detectives to help solve the scissor-stabbing murder of a famed concert pianist who lives above the Shear Madness unisex hairstyling salon. The show combines up-to-the-minute improvisational humor and a mixture of audience sleuthing to deliver a unique performance each night. (D)
Day 2 – Morning of Washington DC Sightseeing – Free Time at Union Station – Depart for Home
This morning after breakfast, meet your local guide for a tour of Washington DC. You will see all the famous sights surrounding the National Mall including the White House, U.S. Capitol, Washington Monument, Union Station and more.
Stop at Union Station for free time and lunch on own. There many dining options at Union Station including several restaurants and a food court. There are also shopping opportunities available.
Depart for home this afternoon. (B)
