This afternoon’s tour includes Grauman’s Chinese Theater (now TLC Chinese Theater) the most famous movie theatre in the world. Known the Hollywood Walk of Fame, featuring cement hand and footprints of major movie stars from past to present. Since 1927, it has been the home of the star powered red carpet movie premieres and special events, where Hollywood’s biggest and brightest stars have come to watch their movies!
Dinner tonight will be on the Santa Monica Pier and includes time for people watching or shopping.
Day 3 – Visit the Queen Mary – Board the Navigator of the Seas
This morning after breakfast, head to Long Beach where you first visit the legendary Queen Mary ship. Get an up close and personal look at the Queen Mary. From the ship’s groundbreaking construction and royal launch as the most luxurious and technologically advanced ocean liner at the time, to her duty as a troopship during WWII, to her golden days of the 1950s, to her earning the nickname, the “haunted ship,” the Queen Mary’s history is full of action, adventure, romance and paranormal activity. Explore the ship from bow to stern, inside and out, and hear unique stories, facts and insights about the Queen Mary from tour expert guides.
Then it’s time to board Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas. The newly amped Navigator of the Seas® delivers a maxed out adventure in just a few short days. Take on record breaking thrills, like the longest waterslide at sea. Soak up bigger, bolder, splashier pool days. Swap going out for going all out with next level nightlife and new dining for every craving.
The ship sets sail at 4:00 pm for a four night cruise featuring Catalina Island and Ensenada.
Day 4 – Day at Sea
Enjoy a full day at sea and your chance to explore all the Navigator of the Seas has to offer. Calling all thrill seekers — you’re in for an unforgettable vacation adventure on a ship unlike any other. Think tide-turning new rides, next level lounging, and a new pool deck with double the surface area for you to swim, splash and lounge.
Day 5 – Catalina Island
Located off the coast of California, Catalina Island is a little paradise, perfect for a day of unwinding and exploring. Everything is within walking distance, so have fun with the family exploring the town of Avalon or grab your hiking shoes and hit the trails. If you’re looking to relax by the seaside, head to Descanso Beach Club, which is considered the nicest beach on the island, or set sail on a catamaran to circle the island and take it all in.
Day 6 – Ensenada, Mexico
As you prepare for your trip to Ensenada, Mexico, you may wonder what awaits you in addition to the golden, palm fringed shores of Estero and Mona Lisa beaches. Ensenada offers a bevy of activities and experiences, whether you hike to the towering waterfall of El Salto canyon, or take to the sea on a whale watching boat. Ensenada is also one of the premier culinary hubs of Baja California, whether you crave tacos made with fresh-caught local fish, or pan-Mexican favorites such as torta sandwiches.
Day 7 – Ship Returns to Los Angeles
Your group can either depart for this morning or add another four nights and take Scenic Highway 1 North and visit San Francisco.

Day 7 – Option – Continue North – Old Mission Santa Barbara – Solvang, CA
When the ship returns to Los Angeles this morning you board your motorcoach and travel to Santa Barbara, CA to visit the Old Mission Santa Barbara, known as the Queen of the Missions. From a breathtaking church and historic cemetery to beautiful gardens and a captivating museum. Followed by free time for shopping and dinner on own.
Continue travel to Solvang, CA for the night.
Day 8 – Scenic Highway 1 – Big Sur to Monterey – Cannery Row – Watsonville, CA
This morning you depart Solvang and travel scenic Highway 1 to Monterey. The most well-known (and photographed) stretch runs along California’s Central Coast from Santa Barbara to Monterey, passing by the unspoiled coastline of Big Sur. It is a long day filled with spectacular scenery that includes The Pacific Coast Highway—this twisting, cliff-hugging storied ribbon of road stretches along the California coast from Carmel to Morro Bay. It has been designated an All-American Road and is much the same route as the Spanish Mission road “El Camino Real.”
Enjoy the free time and dinner at Cannery Row. This historic waterfront district on Monterey Bay was made famous by writer John Steinbeck, who illustrated Cannery Row life in his colorful stories. Authentic Monterey restaurants, convenient shopping and exciting Monterey nightlife are all found on Monterey’s Cannery Row. Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant on the Row.
End the day in Watsonville, CA for an overnight stay at a local hotel.
Day 9 – Roaring Camp Railroad – San Francisco, CA
Travel north this morning to the town of Felton, nestled amongst the Coastal Redwoods of California’s North Central Coast. Here you board the Redwood Forest Steam Train for a short ride through these big trees and enjoy a barbeque lunch in historic Roaring Camp, a recreation of a logging community of the late 1800’s.
This afternoon you continue travel to San Francisco, CA for a two night stay at Fisherman’s Wharf. Enjoy a free evening to explore San Francisco on your own.
Day 10 – San Francisco City Tour – Cable Car Ride – Bay Cruise Past Alcatraz
After breakfast, you begin a full day of touring in this iconic city known for its year-round fog, the Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars and colorful Victorian houses. You’ll cross the Golden Gate Bridge, see the Twin Peaks and The Presidio, the Transamerica Pyramid in the Financial District (the City’s most distinctive skyscraper) and you will ride on a cable car.
In the bay sits Alcatraz Island, site of the notorious former prison. This afternoon, you take the Harbor Cruise past Alcatraz, sailing along San Francisco’s waterfront, under the Golden Gate Bridge, along the Marin Headlands, and back to Fisherman’s Wharf. (Note it is possible to substitute a cruise that docks at Alcatraz for a tour of the Island Prison – but a lot of walking is required for this tour). Dinner tonight is included at a popular restaurant on Pier 39.
Day 11 – Depart for Home
After breakfast, your motorcoach will transfer you to the San Francisco airport for your flight home.
