Itinerary
Travel today on a Starr Tours Motorcoach into the Catskills of New York where you visit the Museum at Bethel Woods and the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. First you start with an included lunch today at the nearby Villa Roma Resort. (A Matinee luncheon show is available on select 2023 dates – contact for details.)
Following lunch, visit Bethel Woods, a lush 800-acre campus which includes a Pavilion Stage amphitheater with a seating capacity of 16,000, an intimate 422-seat indoor Event Gallery, the award-winning Museum at Bethel Woods, and a Conservatory for creative learning programs. Visit the monument that commemorates the original Woodstock Festival.
The Museum at Bethel Woods is where the legends of the 1960s come to life. Relive the past as you explore the exhibits and hear the echo of 450,000 chanting “no rain” and see the stories of those who were actually there. Through artifacts, films, music – and even a hippie bus – you will be inspired not only by what was the most prolific three-day festival in history, but by the ideals that still remain relevant today.
Experience the award-winning, multi-media exhibit ‘The Story of Woodstock and the Sixties’ and travel through the tumultuous decade that culminated with the 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair right here in Bethel, NY. While you’re here, visit the Museum’s annually rotating special exhibits, both inside our special exhibition galleries and on our beautiful historic site.
At 6,728 square feet, The Main Exhibit Gallery holds the permanent exhibit which includes 20 films, five interactive productions, 164 artifacts on display, more than 300 photographic murals, and dozens of interpretive text panels. Discover the iconic fashion of the 1960s, listen to music from the era, and watch a series of films that bring history to life with original footage featuring the people, stories, sights, and music of the three-day Woodstock Festival. Woodstock: The Music shows, for the first time ever, high-definition footage of the best performances from the Woodstock Music and Art Fair told from the perspective of the performers themselves, as well as contemporary artists from today.
Depart for home late afternoon.
